Inclusive Financial Education for the First Gen community

I know exactly how it feels to be left out of the money conversation. That’s why I break down money and finance concepts into bite-sized, relatable, and easy-to-apply lessons.

Let’s Talk Money

Educational Workshops

Make a transformational impact on your employees, members, and students. I approach my speaking events with authentic realness and a first-gen Latina point of view that resonates with a diverse audience looking for representation and guidance from someone who understands their unique first-gen experiences.

Educational Courses

Not sure where to start on your financial education journey? I’ll make it easy for you: start here! I’ve broken down everything you need to know 101-style to start investing and managing your money with confidence. I’ve created each product with first-gen Latinas in mind–meaning you’re getting relevant, realistic guidance from someone who’s been in your shoes.

Money Coaching

Financial literacy is a form of resistance. Empower yourself by learning how to make smart money choices from the ground up even if you have no idea how to create a budget, save for retirement or hit your financial goals! With one-on-one coaching, you can finally gain clarity on how to create a financially abundant lifestyle—one step at a time.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION

My Non-Judgemental Approach To Teaching Financial Literacy

As a daughter of immigrants, I intimately understand that the world of personal finance can largely be unrelatable for many first-generation Latinas and BIPOC–with many traditional financial educators (cis white men) lacking the capacity to understand the unique challenges we’ve faced when it comes to financial literacy. The truth is many of them don’t care to understand or speak to communities outside of their own. What results is out-of-touch advice that sets unrealistic barriers of entry that keep communities of color out of the finance world altogether.

That’s why The First Gen Mentor is changing the game. I have real-world experience with the challenges, mindsets, and boundaries that first-gen and BIPOC students and young professionals are experiencing. And I can provide valuable insights that make my students feel seen, respected, and valued as they are.

When you work with me, you can trust that I will never judge my students for where they are in their journey. I will do my best to make financial literacy fun, engaging, and attainable.

FAQs

  • Financial literacy is important wherever you are on your financial journey. If you have a small budget to work with each month, knowing how to budget, manage your money, and plan for the future can be pivotal in your life.

  • That’s exactly why I’m here! I make it easy to get started with easy-to-understand, applicable guidance. I would suggest looking into booking a coaching call<link> with me for a financial check-in.

  • What makes me different is that I come from an investment background and have the credentials and experience to back up my expertise. Many money coaches don’t actually come from a finance background at all. In fact, they are often former engineers, lawyers, or teachers. While they might be intelligent people, they don’t have the financial background to provide financial education.

  • I come from an investment background and have over 10 years of experience in financial services. I also have a BA in Economics, a certificate in investment performance measurement, taught financial literacy for 2 years as a volunteer financial educator, and have read over 50 finance books to further my expertise in finance.

  • No, only a licensed financial professional is able to provide financial advice. I'm an educator, so my role is a bit different. My role is to break down difficult financial concepts and make them easy for you to understand so you feel empowered to make your own financial choices.
